VOLUNTEER POSITION DESCRIPTIONS AT CROSSROADS RESOURCE CENTER’S

TYPE 1 VOLUNTEER: Client contact

Commitment: Complete application, interview, volunteer training and in the office on-the-job training, serve weekly.

  • Advocate - Helps those experiencing an unplanned pregnancy with the compassion of Christ. Able to listen, educate, communicate, and provide sources of physical, emotional, and spiritual hope to women and their families, especially those considering abortion.
  • Parenting Coach - The “Earn While You Learn” program is an educational incentive program that provides prenatal, infant care, and parenting classes and material assistance for mom, dad, and baby. Facilitators teach, train, and disciple clients one-on-one. Clients attend training sessions and “earn” baby bucks to shop for baby items. 
  • Medical Professional:  Nurse or RDMS: Nurse confirms pregnancy, provides care and eduation to pregnant clients.  RDMS provides early ultrasound to medically confirmed pregnancy. Specialized training required.
  • Bilingual Receptionist – Helps Spanish speaking clientele with a variety of needs, including help with clothing and diapers. Assist with in-office tasks, greeting, and answering phones. Must have a firm belief in the sanctity of human life based on God’s word.

TYPE 2 VOLUNTEER: No client contact

Commitment: Complete application, interview, introductory center training and in-service training. Schedule may vary according to needs and availability of the volunteer. These positions do not have direct contact with clients.

  • Clothing room/Baby Boutique - Duties may include: folding and sorting clothing, organizing rooms, making new baby gift bags, arranging quilts and stocking shelves with clothing and diapers.
  • Prayer Partner - Prays for the specific needs of clients of Crossroads as requested via e-mail. Also prays for Crossroads staff, volunteers, events, etc. as needed.
  • Special projects - Assist with repairs, installations, and minor construction projects.
  • Housekeeper - Helps with keeping Crossroads clean by vacuuming, dusting etc.
  • General Office Volunteer - Assists Crossroads staff with projects throughout the year. General office help including envelope stuffing, sorting, making copies, and small projects. Must have a firm belief in the sanctity of human life based on God's word.
